Ban on plastic use from Aug 15 in Rajamahendravaram
Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation RMC has imposed a ban on the usage of plastic material in the city from August 15 in the city, according to RMC Commissioner Sumit Kumar Gandhi
Rajamahendravaram: Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation (RMC) has imposed a ban on the usage of plastic material in the city from August 15 in the city, according to RMC Commissioner Sumit Kumar Gandhi.
The RMC has devised an action plan to conduct awareness meetings to the people and traders for five days. The meetings began on Monday. The awareness sessions will continue till July 20 twice a day.
Addressing the wholesale and retail traders in the corporation office here on Monday, he said the council had already passed a resolution to ban plastic usage in the city and decided to make Rajamahendravaram as plastic-free city.
The ban will be implemented strictly in the city and asked them to extend their cooperation in this regard. Additisonal Commissioner NVV Satyanarayana Rao, health officer Dr MVR Murthi and others were present.
