Free eye check-up for schoolgirls conducted in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: The Inner Wheel Club of Vijayawada organised a free eye check-up camp to the students of Noor Mohammed Urdu School and CPRMC School at Old Rajarajeswaripeta on Monday, according to SNV Radhika, president of the club.
She said that as many as 186 students from both the schools underwent eye check up in the camp. About 17 students were advised to wear spectacles by the doctors after check-up, she said and added that 54 schools were identified by the club and they would organise the free eye camp at the remaining 52 schools. After completing the eye camp at the remaining schools, all the students who need spectacles would be distributed, said Radhika.
She said that about 10,000 students would undergo free eye check-up in the camp at 54 schools and the eye camp would be completed by September-end, she added.
