CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna termed the allegations of BJP Rajya Sabha member GVL Narasimha Rao against the State government as a mere publicity stunt

Vijayawada: CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna termed the allegations of BJP Rajya Sabha member GVL Narasimha Rao against the State government as a mere publicity stunt.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, he asked the Centre as to why it doesn’t conduct an inquiry into the allegations made by GVL, if the State government misused PD accounts worth Rs 53,000 crore.

Ramakrishna said that political parties were making false allegations to protect self-interests. He asked the BJP leaders to focus their energies in ensuring proper implementation of AP Reorganisation Act-2014.

He said that the BJP leaders should provide answers on the Special Category Status, railway zone and allocation of funds for backward districts. The CPI leader also said that the Left parties would conduct meetings in the two regions of north coastal Andhra and Rajayalaseema. The meeting on north Andhra will be held on August 10 and issues of Rayalaseema districts will be discussed on August 26.

Subsequently the Left parties will announce future course of action on the long pending problems of the two regions. He alleged that Transport Minister K Atchannaidu was working against the interests of the RTC workers. He asked the Minister to participate in the election campaign after resigning to his post.

He lamented that the State government failed to take any action against the persons responsible for the deaths of workers in granite mine blast in Kurnool.
