Kadapa: The Government Whip Meda Mallikarjuna Reddy on Wednesday laid foundation stone for the construction of Road under Bridge (RuB) at Rajampet railway station taken up at a cost of Rs 3.5 crore.
The Railway Board included the RuB proposal in the 2016-17 budget following the representation submitted by the Government Whip on January 1, 2016. Speaking on the occasion, the Rajampet MLA said the RuB was sanctioned on cost sharing basis in 2017-18 budget.
The state government would contribute Rs 93 lakh for construction of approach roads and drains as against the total cost of Rs 3.5 crore. He stated Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had already signed the papers related to the issuance of funds. The RuB would be completed by the end of January 2019, he mentioned. Railway officials and local ruling party leaders were present.
