Vijayawada: SRM University, AP, Amaravati, participated at the four-day working conference on ‘Architecting the Future Global University’. The conference was organised by Rockefeller Foundation of New York held at Italy from August 20 to 24, said SRM University Vice-Chancellor Dr Jamshed Bharucha at a programme here on Monday.
He said that SRM University had the honour of being the only Indian institution to be represented at this prestigious education event. About twenty higher education and intellectual thought leaders were invited to produce a model action plan for the future university as a vibrant global force.
He said that the conference was the brainchild of John Mitchell (Professor of Computer Science and former Vice Provost at Stanford), Robert Lue (Harvard), and Simone Buitendijk (Imperial College, Leiden University Medical Centre). Participants included David Leebron, President of Rice University and Jim Chandler of the University of Chicago, he added.
