Akiveedu: West Godavari District Superintendent of Police M Ravi Prakash has said prior permission is mandatory for setting up of Ganesh pandals as part of Vinayakachaviti festivities.
He asked the organizers of Ganesh pandals to get clearance from officials of Transco to arrange lighting and illumination of the pandals. He warned them against taking illegal electricity connections.
The pandals should be constructed in such a manner that there should be no inconvenience to road users and people.
The organizers should apply in respective police stations for opening the pandals.
The SP asked the organisations preparing to set up pandals to play devotional songs only between 6 am and 10 pm.
The pandals should not be arranged under 100 metres distance from educational institutions, hospitals and courts as they were declared silence zones, he warned.
