Vijayawada: The city traffic police changed the routes for passing of heavy vehicles playing between Hyderabad and Chennai, Chennai-Hyderabad, Vizag-Hyderabad and Hyderabad-Vizag.

All these vehicles pass by Ibrahimpatnam and Ramavarappadu Ring Road Junction. This decision was taken to ease traffic in the city and reduce the travelling time.

Vehicles travelling between Hyderabad and Chennai earlier passed via Ibrahimpatnam, G Konduru, Jakkampudi and reached Inner Ring Road and finally Ramavappadu Ring Road Junction.

Now, the police changed the route. These heavy vehicles like trucks need not go towards G Konduru.

The vehicles take diversion from Gollapudi Y Junction and pass towards Sitara Junction, flyover near milk project, Inner Ring Road, Pipula Road and reach Ramavappadu to enter the national highway.

Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, Additional DCP TV Nagaraju said that the route was diverted to reduce the time.

Similarly, vehicles passing from Ibrahimpatnam towards Vizag are diverted via Kondapalli, G Konduru, Mylavaram, Nuzvid and Hanuman Junction. Earlier, these vehicles passed via Milk Project flyover, Ramavappadu Ring Road Junction.

Vehicles travelling between Chennai and Hyderabad continue in the same route without any change.

These vehicles take diversion at Ramavarappadu Ring Road Junction and pass via Jakkampudi, Shabada Road and reach Gollapudi Junction and enter the Ibrahimpatnam Junction.

The city police also decided to use the new bridge built at Durga temple for passing of vehicles between Vijayawada city and Mangalagiri and Secretariat.

Necessary arrangements have been made for diversion at the busy Durga temple ghat road area which connects Krishna and Guntur districts.
