Vijayawada: A five-day training of trainers programme on ‘Youth and Health’ for NSS Programme Officers was inaugurated here on Monday. The programme was jointly organised by department of Economics, Maris Stella College, and Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Sriperumbudur.

The chief guest of the programme was Prof Dr Vasanthi Rajendran from RGNIYD. Addressing the gathering, she explained the importance of training to the NSS Officers. RGNIYD was an apex institution for Youth Development focusing on training, research and academic programs on youth issues.

Dr Chandra Mohan, Registrar, RGNIYD, in his speech, focused on health issues of the present youth, their lifestyle which includes work, activities, behavioural and psychological aspects which can be balanced by a balanced diet.

Dr B Josephin Sandhya Rani, HoD, Department of Economics, Dr Sr Jasintha Quadras, Principal, C M Vinay Kumar, NSS Coordinator, Krishna University, B Koteswara Rao, V Swapna, Kalima, Sobha, Dr K Swaroop Kumar, NSS Coordinators Supriya, Dr B Rajendra Prasad and NSS Programme Officers were present.
