Tirupati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has given a call to the students to increase the greenery in temple city Tirupati. The Chief Minister inaugurated and participated in ‘Green Tirupati-Most livable Tirupati’ rally which started from Mahati Auditorium on Saturday. Earlier, Naidu planted a sapling at Nagaravanam at Diviyaram forest on Alipiri road.
Before the rally, Chandrababu Naidu garlanded the statue of TDP founder and former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao at the Town Club circle. On the occasion, he addressed the gathering and said that the State government was giving top priority to developing Tirupati as most livable city. As part of that, the government was showing keen interest to provide various State-of-the-art facilities in temple city, he said. Tirupati is the second safest and livable city in India, compared to other cities here higher education, hospital facilities and other living conditions are better, he pointed out.
As part of Smart City project, the local civic body has also taken measures for improving the sanitation and greenery in the city, Naidu said. He asked the students to safeguard each tree in the city so that greenery will be enhanced within short time. Improving of the greenery is not only the responsibility of civic body and urban development authority, it is the primary responsibility of the every resident of temple city, Naidu stressed. Before the arrival of the Chief Minister, students and representatives of a few NGO organisations performed Zumba dance at Town Club Circle.
CM took part in the rally: At 11.50 am, Naidu inaugurated the Green Tirupati rally from Mahati Auditorium. Later, he took part in the rally for a distance of 1.5 km up to Nehru Municipal High School grounds. The rally went on via Central Crime Station, Bommagunta, Jyothi Talkies Circle and Rama Krishna Circle. Along with the Chief Minister, District Collector P S Pradyumna, Joint Collector Girisha, Tirupati MLA Suguna, MCT Commissioner V Vijaya Rama Raju and TUDA Chairman Narashimha Yadav took part in the rally. Students from SVU, SPMV, SVVU and other colleges were present.
Tirupati Urban Police deployed police personnel on a large-scale for bandobust. Traffic police diverted vehicular movement from Balaji Colony to Alipiri Garuda Circle in view of the CM’s rally and public meeting. Nagaravanam inaugurated: Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the Nagara Vanam which was developed by the Tirupati wildlife division at cost of Rs 2 crore on Saturday. For the benefit of the denizens, buffer green zone was developed as Nagaravanam.
After the inauguration of Nagara Vanam, the Chief Minister administered oath to people to take part in improving the greenery in the city. Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P Narayana, Principal Secretary G Anantharamu, CCF Saravana, DFO Nagarjuna Reddy and other officials were present.
