Amaravati: AP cabinet has approved the plans for 4 lakh houses to be constructed for the poor in rural areas. The cabinet headed by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu met at Secretariat here on Friday and took important decisions.

The cabinet has decided that a unit cost for the house will be Rs 2,00000 for each ST and SC family and Rs 1,50,000 for others, explained Minister for Housing Kalava Srinivasulu at a press conference on Friday after concluding cabinet meeting.

Another 35,000 houses sanctioned for villages under Anantapur and Hindupur Urban Development Authorities. The cabinet meet has decided to include new drought mandals in the State, In addition to the already announced drought mandals. Cabinet approved allowance to weaving community during rainy season, for 2 months. Each family will get Rs 2,000 per month.
