Amaravati: The Group of Ministers headed by Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu allotted 25 acres to scribes working in the capital city Amaravati on Wednesday.

Each acre will be sold to journalists at Rs 25 lakh. The Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Minister for Urban Development P Narayana accepted the request made by the Amaravati Accredited Journalists Mutually Aided Cooperative House Building Society Ltd.

Srinivasa Rao said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed the GoM to look into the matter as the journalists requested for housing sites at the capital city.

The Minister explained that more than 2,000 journalists would be benefitted through this decision of state government. The land is being allotted in the capital city Amaravati, at around 1 km away from the permanent secretariat, which would be constructed.

Journalists have to pay the money to the AP Capital Region Development Authority for the allotted land. Before that, the Cabinet needs to approve the proposal.
