2 lakh voters enroll for Graduates MLC polls

Guntur: Over 2,29,886 voters in Guntur and Krishna districts registered their names till November 6, the last date for enrollment in the Graduate voters’ list. While 1,39,106 voters enrolled in Guntur district and 1,05,390 voters enrolled through online.

The remaining 33,716 voters enrolled through offline in the voters list. Similarly, in Krishna district 90,780 voters enrolled of which 65,910 voters enrolled through online and 24,870 voters enrolled through offline.

Following orders of the State Election Commission, district collector Kona Sasidhar and officials conducted awareness meetings on enrolment of voters in the universities, engineering colleges and medical colleges.

District administration enrolled 50,000 voters on a single day and created a national record in Guntur district. TDP and PDF conducted voters’ enrollment programmes. Congress, BJP, YSRCP and Jana Sena did not conduct any voters’ enrollment programmes in the district. Meanwhile voters’ enrollment programme is continuing through online.

Addressing a press meet, TDP leader Dr Rayapati Srinivasa Rao said that TDP leaders, MLAs, Assembly constituency in-charges motivated the voters to enroll their names in the voters list to increase voters enrollment in the district for graduate MLC elections. He said under the aegis of State Libraries Chairman Dasari Raja Master, they also conducted voters’ enrollment in the libraries also.
