Rajamahendravaram: BJP State president Kanna Lakshminarayana said that necessary proof relating to corruption in Polavaram Project works and misuse of Central government funds was available with the Central government. He said Central government departments were asking the State government to clarify their doubts relating to the funds released by the Centre.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, he said the Central government will initiate action against the persons who misused the funds and also on the corruption in Polavaram Project works. He said completion of construction of Polavaram Project was the duty of the Central government as it is a national project.

Kanna alleged that Naidu was acting as a contractor for Polavaram Project and he has been awarding works to sub-contractors to get commissions. He said Naidu does not possess the moral right to speak on democracy as he as been suppressing the Opposition parties in the State.

“The Chief Minister is making hue and cry before leaders of national and regional parties that the Centre was harassing him, is seeking clarification on funds released for Polavaram Project a mistake,” questioned the BJP leader.

He said the BJP will hold week-long protest programmes in the State from November 19 in protest against unnecessary acquisition of thousands of acres of land for Kakinada Special Economic Zone, Bhogapuram Airport, Machilipatnam Port and Polavaram Project.
