Amaravati: IT Minister Nara Lokesh directed the officials to conduct hackathons in the State every month to create awareness on cyber security. During a review meeting with the officials of the Information and Technology department, the Minister asked them to create awareness among youth in the State.

Skill development should be provided to youth to help them derive benefit from the emerging employment opportunities, Lokesh said. He further proposed that there must be at least one Cyber Security Centre in each district.

These centres must be like Atal Tinkering Labs being established in the State, he suggested. Every student must have some idea and knowledge on cyber security from their student life itself, he observed. He felt that there was a need to change the present education system to some extent.

Lokesh said that even in the United States of America (USA), they have been providing cyber security education to the students from their school age, in six phases. He asked the officials to introduce cyber security certificate courses in the State. Stressing the need of having knowledge on cyber security, he said that bureaucrats, legislators, and people also must understand the things.
