Tirupati: The 4th State Finance Commission Chairman Prof G Nancharaiah visited the Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) here on Tuesday as part of gathering information regarding the financial requirements for developmental works in Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).
A four-member panel led by Dr Nacharaiah has interacted with MCT Commissioner Vijay Rama Raju. The civic chief brought to the notice of panel chief that the MCT needs additional funds to take up developmental works like construction of drains and roads and supplying of drinking water as the city has been expanding rapidly.
In the meeting, panel members Prof V Narasimhulu Naidu, Prof B Nagaraju, T Bhaskara Rao, I Satyanarayana and all the ULB commissioners of the Chittoor district have participated.
