AP High Court to start in Amaravati from April 7

Hyderabad: Notification for bifurcation of High Court between the two states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is in the process of being issued, it is reliably learnt.
The President of India, in the notification, is understood to have set April 7 as the appointed date for AP High Court to start functioning from Andhra capital -- Amaravati.
As per the AP Reorganisation Act 2014, the High Court in the combined Andhra Pradesh state will have to be divided between the two states.
AP government has already started the construction of Justice City in Amaravati. Due to the delay, the division of the High Court, based at Hyderabad, did not take place.
Now the AP government is constructing temporary premises for AP High Court, as Justice City would take some more time. According to sources, the division of judges and other judiciary staff between the two states has already entered the final stages.
All the allotted staff and judges will be shifted to the new AP High Court once the construction of temporary premises for the court buildings is completed which may not take very long.
