Strive to represent district at Olympics: DIG tells police personnel

Kurnool: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Kurnool Range D Nagendra Kumar advised the district police athletes to represent the district police department in Olympic level. With a view to make police personnel happy, the sports and games meet of police department is being organised after a gap of three years, Nagendra Kumar said.
The DIG, accompanied by District Collector S Sathyanarayana, 2nd Battalion DIG Ch Vekateshwarulu, Superintendent of Police Dr Fakkeerappa Kaginelli, Joint Collector Patanshetti Ravi Subash, 2nd Battalion Commandant Shaik Hussain Saheb, participated as chief guests on the concluding eve of district police sports and games-2018 meet at Police Parade Grounds here on Sunday.
Later addressing the concluding ceremony, the DIG said sports are very important for maintenance of a person physically fit and mentally healthy. Sports play vital role to get rid of stress from daily activities. The police have to maintain fitness even after joining the department after getting training.
Everyone of us has to spare some time for doing exercise daily, stated the DIG, D Nagendra Kumar District Collector S Sathyanarayana said police department is a responsible department. Conducting sports once in a while to police personnel is very important because the sports will help in overcoming the stress and strain.
He lauded the police department for conducting the sports and games event to police personnel. Conducting sports every year has become a custom, stated the 2nd battalion DIG, Ch Venkateshwarulu. He further said that sports create a friendly atmosphere. He said around 400 police personnel have participated in 39 events.
The officials also participated in tug of war. Later the officials distributed prizes to the winners and runners. Intelligence Reserve Inspector, O Rajasekhar Rao, Armed Reserved SP, I Venkatesh, Homeguards, Commandant, Chandra Mouli, DSPs, J Babu Prasad, Venkatadri, CM Gangaiah, Vankatramudu, Kula Sekhar, Khadar Basha, Muralidhar, Ugandhar Babu, Hussain Peera, Gopala Krishna Iliyaz Basha, Lakshmi Naranaya and others participated.
