Vijayawada: The city police arrested seven persons including three women in connection with the theft cases in the city. DCP B Rajkumari and her team arrested the accused under the limits of various police stations on Thursday. The police seized 332 grams of gold and 161 grams of silver and cash all worth Rs 12.02 lakh from their possession.
In view of increase in thefts in the city, the Vijayawada City Crime police intensified the investigation and closely watching the movement of persons moving suspiciously. The police arrested the accused from different areas in the city.
Avula Pravin Kumar,21 involved in two pickpocket cases under limits of Machavaram police station, Avula Keerthi,19 involved in one pickpocket case, Kankanala Renuka,51, involved in four thefts under Governorpet police station limits, Kankanala Divya,51, involved in a pickpocket case, Kankanala Bala Swamy, 19, involved in three pickpocket cases under one town police station limits, Banny involved in three pickpocket cases under the Krishna Lanka police station limits, Jagadish,19, involved in four daytime robberies under two town police station limits were among arrested by the city police on Thursday. The police filed cases against thefts and robberies after considering the complaints from victims.
