Tirupati: TDP district Christian Cell hailed chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu for the resolution adopted in Legislative Assembly to include converted Christians also into Scheduled Castes (SCs). Speaking to media, Christian Cell district president Y Praveen said the move will benefit thousands of Dalits, who were converted to Christianity, and they can avail all the benefits including reservation in education, employment and financial support through SC Corporation etc.
on par with other SCs for the development of poor Dalit Christians. The decision will also end the discrimination against Dalit Christians, who were all these years not allowed SC status though others including Dalit Buddhists, Dalit Sikhs and other enjoying SC status, he explained.
