Amaravati: The AP government announced an interim relief of 20 per cent to the state staff and was ratified by the cabinet which met here on Friday. According to the employees’ JAC, they had a series of meetings with the Chief Minister on the issue and the Chief Minister explained to them about the financial situation of the state and said despite odds he was ready to announce an interim relief of 20 per cent.

The JAC leaders said they were happy with the announcement and would stand by the government in the successful implementation of all government programmes. They also said they would be going to New Delhi to participate in the Dharma Porata Deeksha led by the Chief Minister in protest against the injustice meted out to the state by the Centre.
