Srikakulam: Collector K Dhanunjaya Reddy on Friday inaugurated the three-day long Kalingandhra festival. The festival is planned to explain the rich cultural history of Kalingandhra to future generations. Speaking on the occasion, the collector appealed to youth to focus on history of Kalingandhra and its rich culture.
A photo exhibition was arranged in a chronological order explaining the Kalingandhra area. Public thronged festival to witness the exhibition and to know the historical events chronologically. To explain previous events, a cultural programme was also arranged by various teams across the State.
“It is a novel activity to memorise history and culture of our previous generations and people need to know and receive the positive information from these festivals,” suggested ITDA Project Officer Lotheti Shiva Sankar.
