Kurnool: A 7-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 15-year-old youth at Banaganapalle. The incident took place on Sunday and it came to light on Monday with the police filing a case based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s parents.
Inspector P Suresh Kumar Reddy speaking to The Hans India said that the minor boy was a close relative to the victim’s family. Both, the accused and victim’s family stay in adjacent houses at Banaganapalle town.
The boy was said to have lured the girl with sweets and raped her after taking her into his house. No one was present at the house when the crime was committed on Sunday afternoon. The victim who was profusely bleeding, narrated the incident to her parents on their return in the evening.
They immediately admitted the girl to Banaganapalle government hospital. After primary treatment, she was again shifted to Kurnool General Hospital for better treatment. She is under medical care and her health condition is said to be stable.
However, the police filed a case following a complaint lodged by the victim’s parents. A case under POCSO Act has been registered against the accused.
