Vijayawada: Suryarao Pet police arrested two AC technicians and confiscated 23 air-conditioners, which the duo had stolen from a godown of a company located near Vijaya talkies recently.
Speaking to media here on Wednesday, DCP (crime) B Rajakumari said two accused Podili Veera Swamy of Mylavaram, Krishna district and Eeda Charan Teja of Kotturu Tadepalli of Vijayawada rural mandal had stolen 23 AC machines belong to SV Engineers company godown located in Arundelpet.
Earlier, the two AC mechanics worked in the same company and later quit the job. However, they hatched a plan to steal the AC machines from the company to make easy money and recently they lifted 23 machines by breaking the lock of godown.
The company owner lodged a complaint with Suryaraopet police about the theft. After stealing the machines, the duo tried to sell two AC machines to a trader in Governorpet.
Police suspected some foul play when the two were carrying AC machines in an auto-rickshaw and questioned them. During interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime and the police seized the AC machines valued at Rs 9.72 lakh and produced them before the media.
