Tirumala: Puja was performed to the newly constructed twin buildings of Srivari Seva in Tirumala on Friday morning. TTD Trust Board Chairman P Sudhakar Yadav took part in this puja along with TTD Trust Board member Peddireddi.

Speaking to the media, Sudhakar Yadav said Srivari Seva began in the year 2000 with a noble purpose to facilitate services to countless devotees, who come from all over India and overseas to Tirupati and Tirumala for glorious darshan of Lord Venkateswara.

Commenced with just 195 members, today there are around 1,500 Sevakulu (volunteers) on normal days and 3,000-3,500 during festivals like Brahmotsavams and Vaikunta Ekadasi.

“So far, 10 lakh man hours were served under Srivari Seva voluntary service to devotees in the last 19 years. Srivari Sevaks include NRIs and mostly devotees from Maharashtra, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, New Delhi besides southern states of AP, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and Puducherry,” he stated.

Complimenting the engineering wing of TTD, Sudhakar Yadav said, two separate and state-of-the-art buildings have been constructed on the Papa Vinashanam road behind the Kalyana Vedika for facilitating Srivari Sevakulu (women and men) to stay.

“Each complex has 16 halls with ground plus two floors in two buildings, with a capacity to accommodate nearly 2,000 persons each with 224 bath rooms, 278 toilets, dining hall to feed 700 Sevaks at a buffet table.

Apart from this, recreation and Satsang halls were also constructed to provide feel good ambience to the volunteers during their stay in Tirumala,” he maintained.

Yadav said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has also complimented Srivari Sevakulu during the recent Bhookarshana programme held at Amaravati in the last month, he recalled. CE Chandrasekhar Reddy, SE-2 Ramachandra Reddy, EE Subramanyam and others were present.
