Spencer’s opens 2 new outlets in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Retail chain Spencer’s, a part of RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, on Wednesday inaugurated two new hypermarkets in the city. The two new stores located in Ramanthapur and L B Nagar will commence sales from August 14 on the eve of Independence Day. Renowned musician Dr M Balamuralikrishna inaugurated the stores.

Speaking on the occasion, S M Ramanathan, Vice President& Business Manager (Telengana & AP), Spencer’s Retail said that the two new hypermarkets, spread over more than 60,000 sq ft, would take the number of Spencer’s hyper stores in the city to five.

Hyderabad is very important to Spencer’s as it was the first city where Spencer’s opened its first hypermarket at Musheerabad way back in 2000, he added. With the two new outlets, Spencer’s has a total of 120 stores with trading area in excess of 11 lakh sft across 35 cities in India.

“Currently Spencer’s is attracting nearly 4 million footfalls every month. The two new hyper stores in Hyderabad are expected to provide ultimate shopping experience to discerning consumers with more than 20,000 quality products at an affordable price,” Ramanathan added.

The new stores offer a wide range of merchandise in food & grocery, fresh fruits & vegetables, home and stationery products, electrical and electronic products, as also personal care products. They also offer fresh fish and meat, patisserie, a live bakery, dairy, chilled and frozen products.
