upaTirupati: Upa Lokayukta Justice MVS Krishnaji Rao conducted camp court and received 16 petitions from public in Sri Padmavathi Guest House here on Wednesday. He directed Revenue officials to submit a detailed report on conditions in cinema theatres like basic amenities, hygiene and prices of eatables and water facilities available. Upa Lokayukta MVS Krishnaji Rao asked the officials to conduct surprise checks in theaters. He also told the endowment and revenue officials to investigate the encroachment of 115 acres of land belonged to Pittala Tayaramma Charitable Trust of Proddutur. He directed officials concerned to open e-darshan centre at Gudur in Nellore district. Speaking to the newsmen, MVS Krishnaji Rao said that the court took the death of 11 children in the Government Ruia Hospital at Tirupati as suo moto case and ordered District Collector to conduct an enquiry into the deaths and submit a detailed report to the court. Commenting on the misuse of government land, he stated that house sites sanctioned by the government to working journalists across the State were going into the hands of some non-journalists.A A "Some persons are getting house sites with false claims of working as journalists. Revenue Officials will seize such sites if they find the beneficiaries are found to be non-journalists,'' he added. Speaking about the irregularities and corruption at temples, he said some hawkers were selling adulterated 'ghee lamps' and poor quality laddus to devotees at higher prices and such practices should be ended with immediate effect. "Action has been taken against the EO of Srikalahasthi temple for negligence in monitoring and checking irregularities in the sale of laddus on the temple premises,'' he pointed.
