In a major push to provide safety and security to the belongings of visiting pilgrims, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has set up a Common Collection Centre (CCC) on a trial basis in PAC 4 (Old Annaprasadam Building) at Tirumala on Sunday.

Tirumala: In a major push to provide safety and security to the belongings of visiting pilgrims, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has set up a Common Collection Centre (CCC) on a trial basis in PAC 4 (Old Annaprasadam Building) at Tirumala on Sunday.

Tirumala JEO KS Sreenivasa Raju along with CVSO GVG Ashok Kumar began cell phone, shoe and luggage delivery system on an experimental basis in four counters. Speaking to the media, the Tirumala JEO said at present over 10 centres where cell phones, luggages and shoes can be kept are operational at different places in Tirumala.

However, the pilgrims are facing the problem of identifying the counters after completing darshan since they hail from different places of the country. To minimise the woes of the visiting pilgrims, the TTD has launched Common Collection Centre in PAC 4 wherein the goods, including cell phones, luggage, shoes deposited by the pilgrims at the different counters in Tirumala will be collected in PAC 4 and delivered to the pilgrims. "Initially we commenced this activity in four counters in PAC 4.
