RGV raised many eyebrows by choosing a deadly subject and the film has got good promotion. The film revolves around the true life of the slain forest brigand Veerappan.

Kannada superstar Shivaraj Kumar has played the central role of the officer who kills Veerappan and Sandeep, an aspiring youth from National School of Drama, has enacted the role of the dreaded Sandalwood smuggler.

Story:
The story is not new to the Telugu audience as Veerappan's story is well known to everyone. Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala governments have spent Rs 700 crores to nab him.

Shivaraj Kumar's performance is mindblowing in the role of Senthamarai Kannan, superintendent of Police, STF and the spy who was the mastermind of Operation Cocoon. He thrills the audience with his powerful acting. RGV has proved he is a clever director with his selection of theatre artiste Sandeep Bharadwaj as Veerappan. Sandeep has become one of the main assets in the film. Yagna Shetty and Parul Yadav have delivered fantastic performances.

With an engrossing script and good characterization, RGV has once proved that there will be no retirement for him and he is still capable of making a trend setter film. Since there are no commercial elements in the film, it may not impress all the section of fans. But RGV's fans will enjoy the film.
