Even film critics found fault with lip-locks in the movie and argued that there were in excess. However, the lip-locks were all subject-driven and justified; they are placed not to just titillate the audience and were used as a form of expression of love and intimacy.
For instance, in a scene, during the flashback in the second half of the movie, the lead pair along with their friends go on a drive. Subsequently, they met with a small mishap and survive with minor injuries and what follows after the mishap is a lip-lock, which denotes love and affection more than anything else. This is more or less the case with all the lip-locks in the movie, they are mostly justified.
