Visakhapatnam: Under a gazed pressure, a 19 year old girl named Swetha, originally hailing from Visakhapatnam committed suicide on Sunday. Swetha is a first year BBM student and allegedly committed suicide on Sunday as she was no more interested in pursuing Management studies.
It is learnt that Swetha is studying first year BBM at the Gayatri Vidya Parishad college. She is the second child of K.S. Chalam and K Krishna Kumar. Her father has been working as an assistant commissioner in the commercial tax department and, while her mother is a medical staffer at the NRI hospital.
Reportedly, the girl jumped from the balcony of their flat in the afternoon on Sunday. She died on the spot after sustaining severe head injuries.
According to the police, the girl was a psychiatric patient, and was under the treatment of well known psychiatry professor Dr M.S.N. Reddy of Hyderabad. A suicide note left by her reveals the fact that she could not perform well in the presentation and apologized her parents for her suicide.
The police registered a case under Section 174 of CrPC. Swetha’s body was shifted to King George Hospital later in the day for autopsy.
It is worth mentioning here that in a similar case, on Saturday, IIT-B PhD scholar M. Siva Teja aged 26 years hailing from Hyderabad ended his life at a lodge.
