The CBI court has finally held Satyam computers former chairman B Ramalinga Raju and ten of his associates including two brothers guilty of ten charges.

But the court is yet to announce the sentence of imprisonment yet. The landmark trial ended last year, but the judgement was withheld several times due to advocates' strike and general elections. The CBI court magistrate B K L N Chakravarti who has been with the case from 2007, said that the case of Ramalinga Raju showed how economic offences were on the rise in the country.


The CBI court scrutinized 3015 documents, quizzed 226 witnesses and studied the 1.6 lakh page documents submitted by the CBI in 3 documents. The trial had set the tone and tenor for arraigning the economic offence of criminals and tycoons in the country.


Among the accused who also were in jail for several years were Prabhakar Gupta, Srisailam, Venkatapathi Raju, Rama Raju (brothers), Vadlamani Srinias, Talluri Srinivas, Ramakrishna, Satyanarayana Raju and Gopalakrishnan.
