In a bizarre incident that replicates a filmy instance, a married woman has resolved to seek justice for her conjugal rights in front of all the villagers, who witnessed her wedding.
Warangal: In a bizarre incident that replicates a filmy instance, a married woman has resolved to seek justice for her conjugal rights in front of all the villagers, who witnessed her wedding.
The incident is much like that of SV Krishna Reddy-directed and Srikanth-Ramyakrishna-starrer Telugu movie Aahwaanam, in which the heroine seeks justice from her husband who wanted to divorce her. She asks the hero to give divorce in a ceremony in front of all those who attended their marriage.
Sandhya, daughter of Ponnala Chandramouli and Saraswati of Kodakandla mandal, was married to Bhairu Bhargav, a compounder by profession, of Palakurthy in 2009. It’s learnt that life is not all that well for Sandhya after the first six months of her marriage. The couple was issueless.
In this backdrop, Sandhya went to Surat in Gujarat, where her parents live, to attend the wedding of her sister Sarita in this May. Even after repeated appeals from his in-laws, Bhargav didn’t attend the marriage.
While Sandhya was in Surat, Bhargav reportedly developed intimacy with Dharavath Padma of Sita Tanda and was married to her. Knowing this, Sandhya approached the village elders seeking justice but in vain. Later, she lodged a complaint with the Women Police Station in Hanamkonda on November 2. Though the police counselled the couple on November 7, the issue was not resolved.
Afterwards, Sandhya along with her parents met one and all in Palakurthy village inviting them to witness her panchayati (marriage dispute) with her husband at bus stand centre on Sunday morning at Palakurthy.
Sandhya said: “I need my husband back.”Bhargav said: “I had to marry Padma as he had no children with his first wife Sandhya. I am ready to look after my first wife.” Meanwhile, it’s learnt that Bhargav’s first wife Padma is pregnant.
