​Hyderabad: Four notorious snatchers in the city were apprehended by the West Zone Task Force police on Friday. The police recovered 6.5 tolas gold, 11 tolas silver, four bikes and five mobiles from the offenders.

Acting on a tip-off, the task force teams swung into action and nabbed Mohammed Faisal (23) of Hassan Nagar, Abood Bin Haji (22) of Kishanbagh, Mohammed Feroz (22) a degree student at City College and resident of Falaknuma and Mohammed Yousuf Shareef alias Pappu (20) from Hassannagar, at Banjara Hills.

The accused were involved in six bag-snatching offenses in the twin Commissionerates this year and they had been arrested earlier as well for similar offenses, said task force DCP B Limba Reddy. He said the accused had taken to a life of crime in 2014. They used to snatch phones and bags from people walking in isolated places and travelling alone in autos.

The DCP said that Feroz and Faisal had recently been arrested in a case and sent to judicial custody for 15 days. They had again committed six offences after being released. The accused used to sell the stolen property and buy bikes on an installment basis. Along with the recovered property, the accused have been handed over to the Banjara Hills police.
