Kamareddy: Local police on Monday solved the murder mystery of Allakunta Siddiah (55) which occurred on November 19 after arresting his wife Siddavva, son Sivayya and son-in-law Santosh, who sought to project it as suicide.

Speaking to the media, Station House Officer Srinivas said that Siddayya was murdered according to a plan by the trio after hitting him on the head with a pistle (‘rokali banda’) during the night following a row over payment of Rs.10,000 to meet the house expenses. The victim, who was addicted, to liquor refused to give money.

This, according to Srinivas, enraged his wife, son and son-in-law, who beat Siddayya resulting in his instantaneous death.

They sought to project the death as an accident and dumping the body in a canal so that there won’t be any suspicion.

The SHO stated that the trio confessed to the murder during interrogation, after being taken into custody, when the police found blood stains in the house.

The three were arrested and being sent to remand.
