BRAOU MPhil, PhD admissions. Dr B R Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), Hyderabad, in collaboration with Centre for Economic and Social Studies (CESS) invites application forms for admission into MPhil and PhD programmes in development studies for the academic year 2014-15 in accordance with the guidelines issued by the UGC in June 2009, said university in a press release on Tuesday.
Hyderabad: Dr B R Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), Hyderabad, in collaboration with Centre for Economic and Social Studies (CESS) invites application forms for admission into MPhil and PhD programmes in development studies for the academic year 2014-15 in accordance with the guidelines issued by the UGC in June 2009, said university in a press release on Tuesday. The MPhil and PhD programmes are offered in commerce, development statistics, economics, geography, political science & public administration and sociology.
Candidates with a master’s degree with 55 per cent marks in social sciences are eligible. Admission is based on entrance test and interview. The entrance test will be conducted on March 23, it added.
Candidates qualified in UGC test or any National level Test for JRF, MPhil degree holders from any recognised university and FIP (UGC) candidates are exempted from the entrance test for PhD admission.
The application form can be obtained from Office of the Director, Centre for Economic and Social Studies (CESS) on payment of Rs 100 either in cash or through DD drawn in favour of Director, CESS. Application form and other guidelines can also be downloaded from CESS website www.cess.ac.in . For further details, contact on 040-2340 2789, 2341 6780.
The last date for submission of filled-in application form with a registration fee for Rs 500 is March 3. The applications can be submitted at CESS office located at Nizamia Observatory Campus, Begumpet, Hyderabad.
