Promises to make Greater Hyderabad a Dallas
Hyderabad: On the penultimate day of campaign for GHMC elections Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao once again targeted the TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu and called upon the voters not to get carried away by campaign of other parties who had failed to deliver the goods when in power.
At a huge public rally at Parade Grounds on Saturday, KCR said that it was Naidu who created hurdles in bringing Krishna and Godavari water for drinking purposes to Greater Hyderabad.”If he is a man with vision why did he fail to construct 200 vegetable markets which were required for the size of Hyderabad. We only have seven such markets.
Naidu calls himself a hi-tech chief minister but then why did he fail to improve the sewerage system and why does Hyderabad flood even when there is small shower. All the claims made by Naidu that he had developed Hyderabad are false and absurd, he said.
Taking frequent potshots at Naidu, KCR said that Naidu’s imprint was visible at many places. The police action at Basheerbagh which claimed four lives of farmers who were opposing power tariff hike, the brutal beating up of Anganwadi workers in front of Assembly, introducing contract system in government jobs are some of the landmarks of Naidu.
“He has cheated workers and helped capitalists and now he is trying to create differences between people,” KCR said. Listing out various welfare schemes like Kalyanlakshmi, increase in pensions and other measures like hike in salaries of GHMC workers, home guards and insurance scheme for auto rickshaw drivers, KCR said that it was only TRS which works for the welfare of all sections.
He said every vote for TRS will help them in developing a city that would be much better than Dallas of the US. Cautioning the people from voting for the BJP-TDP combine, he said there was nothing Naidu can do for the city even if the BJP TDP combine is voted to power. He is Chief Minister of another state and has lot of work there.
“It is only TRS which understands your needs and requirements and hence only we can deliver the promises we make,” KCR said. Turning his ire towards the Union Minister of State for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya, KCR said he always considered him to be an elderly person but even he was speaking lies during the election campaign. Dattatreya says that the Centre was funding the two-bedroom scheme.
This is a scheme conceived and being executed by TRS government. The BJP, which is in power in many states, never even thought of such a scheme. “Where is the question of the Centre funding it,” he asked. KCR also lambasted the Congress party and said that people have seen its performance for long time and were not ready to believe them. Referring to the statement of CPI Secretary that he would offer his ears if TRS wins on its own, KCR said people’s verdict will decide who should cut their ears.
