Srikakulam: \'Will Strive Hard to Uphold Father\'s Legacy\', Ram Mohan Naidu, son of Yerrannaidu has taken up the mantle to fill the void. He expressed confidence of clinching the polls.

Kinjarapu Yerrannaidu was the face of the Srikakulam in Parliament, his sudden demise left a void not only in TDP but in Srikakulam politics. Ram Mohan Naidu, son of Yerrannaidu has taken up the mantle to fill the void. He expressed confidence of clinching the polls. In an interview with Aditya Parankusam, he has spoken about his promises and issues that have been plaguing the constituency. The young politician said that he has identified the issues that have been plaguing the constituency for long. “There are plenty of resources that would suffice the water requirement for agriculture. However, these weren’t properly utilised,” lamented Ram Mohan Naidu. “If the water resources are channelised, water can be given to maximum acres at low cost. Construction of a hospital to treat kidney related diseases at Uddanam is the need of the hour. RIMS have to be elevated to be a super-specialty hospital. This can be only possible with an able and capable government.”

Commenting on the people’s apathy against sand mining in coastal areas and Timex company forcibly vacating fishermen, “An industry should improve, not ruin, the lives of the people.” Ram Mohan Naidu called for the need to upgrade community hospitals and public health centres along with preserving and protecting environment as a measure to battle chemical pollution in Uddanam region. He said that if water would be given for two crops, it would arrest the migration to Hyderabad and other areas. He blamed the 10 years of Congress’ rule and held them responsible for the migration.

“There is a vast coast line and plenty of untapped potential in fisheries. Fishing harbor and cold storages have to be setup and developed to turn the district into fisheries hub. There is a long pending issue of construction of a harbour at Bhavanapadu I will try my best to develop it into a fishing harbour.” Ram Mohan Naidu said that he would cancel the permits to the thermal power plants that secured permissions illegally. “Party chief Chandrababu Naidu promised the same and I will implement that.” The polls mark the political debut of this young politician and he expressed confidence in clinching victory. “The response from the public is overwhelming; they are welcoming me with open hands. Ten years of Congress rule has done nothing to the constituency. The development you see now is because of the efforts of my father. It is a hard task to live up to his standards but I promise that I will do my best to uphold his legacy,” signs off Ram Mohan Naidu.
