Commuters are predictably miffed at the route alteration. A traffic cop present at the junction says, “Before the construction of the Metro Rail project, there was only one cop manning the signal but now the number has increased to eight.” He added that a divider will now be built this week at the junction.

Traffic authorities claim that the road was only closed to avoid congestion. Sandeep Reddy, traffic circle inspector, Nallakunta, said that a similar experiment in Uppal junction was very successful in avoiding traffic congestions and the same has been carried out here.
