Bhupalpalli: The District Collector, A Murali, directed the officials to identify the tanks needed to be renovated under third phase of Mission Kakatiya.
He held a meeting with the irrigation and revenue officials here on Tuesday to discuss the issue of identifying the tanks. While preparing the proposals the guidelines stipulated by the State-level officials have to be followed properly.
The tanks having breaches, damaged feeder channels and dried up should be identified in order to fulfil the objective of Mission Kakatiya.
Stress should be laid on the tanks under which SC/ST/BC farmers were in large numbers and having larger extent of ayacut.
Committees with farmers under the ayacut have to be formed and work proposals should include all the components.
Care should be taken not to damage the tanks which were in proper condition. The proposals and estimates should be submitted to the government after getting approval from local legislators, Murali said.
In a meeting with roads and buildings officials and contractors, the District Collector directed them to initiate measures to complete the 105 kilometre long ring road connecting Mahadevpur, Kataram, Mahamuttaram and Palimela mandals by 2017. A total of four bridges were proposed on the road with an estimation of Rs 5.25 crore.
He told the contractors to expedite the works related to high level bridge on the road. The works of the bridge coming up at Ambatpalli and Pankena should be finished by 2017 as per the agreement to ensure proper connectivity to remote corners of the district.
The high level bridge at Ambatpalli was taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 5.25 crore and another high level bridge at Pankena with Rs 2.55 crore was taken up.
