Nalgonda: Stating that the district hospital would be upgraded by increasing its bed capacity to 400 from the present 250, MP Gutha Sukender Reddy said necessary steps have been taken to develop the hospital in all aspects.

Addressing the officials in a meeting held on hospital premises on Wednesday, Gutha said the committee had approved the purchase of required equipment for the welfare of patients.

He instructed officials concerned to complete the construction of 150-bed Child and Mother Care hospital by March 2017. He further informed that the 250-bed capacity hospital would be increased to 400-bed by March 2017 and would be inaugurated by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

“Health Minister Laxma Reddy was requested to sanction a medical college to Nalgonda. If it becomes a reality, district headquarter hospital will be developed tremendously,” the MP said.

He listed out various decisions taken in the meeting for the development of hospital including construction of additional rooms for postmortem apart from providing better facilities to poor who come to the hospital.

ZP Chairman Balu Naik, Collector Gaurav Uppal, Municipal Chairman Laxmi, Hospital Superintendent Narsing Rao, DMHO Banu Prasad, RMO Uday Singh, Red Cross Chairman Amarender Reddy, Dr Vasantha Kumari, Dr Amar, Dr Matru, ZPTCs and others participated.
