Balanagar: The city- based industrial wastage is increasingly and unabatedly poisoning the city's water bodies and empty grounds. Sewage is carried by many tankers, to avoid detection. According to the officials many pharma , plastic and chemical industries are dumping the industrial wastage at IDPL grounds to save money.

It ends up affecting the environment as they release toxic substances and green house gases like carbon dioxide when burnt, oxygen availability for breathing will be less. Bad odour is prevalent all around the place and it looks like a dumping yard. It is alleged that , due to hazardous waste many street dogs and pigs are found dead.

Speaking to The Hans India Satish Reddy, resident of IDPL said, GHMC and the government should take action on this issue. We are suffering badly with the stinking atmosphere’. There are many who travel from that ground which connects to the Balanagar Y junction.
Vineeth Amsham, another resident said:’ The toxic effluents mixed in the nalas have been creating problems to the residents.

In the last rainy session heavy foam came out due to which residents faced lot of problem. No officials are looking into this issue on a permanent basis. When problems come they will come here and check after that they never come here again. To avoid this Government & GHMC have to take strict rules for controlling the industries, so that they can avoid the industrial wastage’ he added.
