Hyderabad: It was a grand military spectacular of 400 budding young men marching to the tune of “Sare Jaha Se Accha” in their crisp military attire to assume their rightful place in the gunner’s family.

Artillery Centre, Hyderabad conducted Attestation Parade for recruits on their successful completion of a year-long training recently. The passing out parade for 400 recruits was reviewed by Major General N Srinivas Rao, General Officer Commanding, Telangana and Andhra Sub Area and was witnessed by the proud parents and guardians at Artillery Centre, Golconda in Hyderabad.

The Reviewing Officer appreciated the instructors and staff for achieving a very high standard of drill in the Attestation Parade, lauded the efforts of Artillery Centre for improving the standards of training and also congratulated the parents of the young soldiers. The Reviewing Officer then handed over the medals to the recruits for standing the best in Drill, Physical Training, and Weapon Training. Medal for overall best recruit was awarded to recruit Rahul Lakhera.

He also presented the “Gaurav Padaks” to the parents and guardians for dedicating their wards in the service of the nation. After the ceremonial parade, Major General N Srinivas Rao, GOC, TASA, Brigadier RR Kumar, Commandant, Artillery Centre and senior army officers, instructors and staff interacted with parents and shared their happiness and pride. Later the GOC, Major General Rao laid a wreath at the War Memorial of Artillery Centre and paid tributes to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for safe guarding the nation.
