Traffic jams a persistent problem at Khairatabad

Khairatabad: There is a traffic jam almost every 15 minutes at Khairatabad in spite of a traffic signal system and police personnel working round the clock. People coming from Necklace Road and heading towards Panjagutta need to take a U turn and those coming from Lakdi-ka-Pul towards Panjagutta too halt for a while due to heavy traffic.

Traffic police says that people just do not have patience and it is also a cause for traffic jams. There are several instances when two cars stop right in the middle of the road when a signal is given leading to jams. Mahender, an employee of Water Board says, “After the metro works started the problem increased and whenever there is a festival at the Khairatabad Ganesh temple, the road gets blocked.
