Siddipet: Irrigation and Marketing Minister T Harish Rao on Wednesday felicitated 52 Haj pilgrims at Madina Function Hall at Siddipet. The Minister expressed his happiness to participate in the programme and wished pilgrims a very happy religious pilgrimage to Mekka and urged them to pray to ‘Allah’ for the wellbeing of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

He, who interpreted the several welfare schemes by his government for the Muslim minorities, assured the pilgrims of construction of Haj House at Siddipet with an expenditure of Rs 2 crore by the time they return from Haj pilgrim from Mekka. The TRS government had earmarked Rs 1,200 crore from the budget for the development of the Muslims in the state including the establishment of corporate level residential schools, said the Minister who felicitated a student Rushad Fatima who got seat in government medical college with 1753 rank in Medicine entrance examination. The programme was attended by MLA Babu Mohan, MLC Farook Hussain, P Sudhakar Reddy and others.

The Minister, who inaugurated integrated community hall at Ponnala village in Siddiper Urban Mandal, said the area will be irrigated by Ranganayaka Sagar reservoir covering 1.10 lakh acres. When the Minister asked an 80-year-old woman Kondavva, who expressed her happiness over the medical services at government hospital and KCR Kit by the government, whether she knows who he was, she replied that she knows very well that he was Harish Rao and said he was like her elder son to which got a huge applause from the gathering.
