BandaruHyderabad: The Congress high command is making quick moves on Telangana front only due to clear stand taken by its main rival, Bharatiya Janata Party on the issue, observed Bandaru Dattatreya, national vice president of the saffron party. Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Dattatreya said, Congress-led UPA Government is wary of BJP conceding Telangana state incase NDA comes to power and hence it has expedited the process to claim credit all by itself. He demanded the Congress to fulfill the promise made on December 9, 2009, and concede Telangana consisting of ten districts with Hyderabad as its capital. He sought to allay fears of Seemandhra people over safety of their properties in newly formed State in general and Hyderabad in particular. Dattatreya vowed to safeguard the interests of Seemandhra people. Commenting on the building collapse incident in Secunderabad, the BJP leader opined that it could have been avoided if the civic body strictly implemented court orders regarding old structures. Shortage of staff especially in town planning wing has also become a big bane for GHMC, he felt. The saffron party leader demanded the government to pay Rs 10 lakh as ex-gratia to kin of deceased besides providing a government job to eligible member of each affected family. Meanwhile, Bandaru Dattatreya flayed the Union Government for not taking proper steps to end Chinese aggression on the Indian soil. Because of the Centre's failure Chinese Army made a fresh incursion into our territory for the second time in three months, he fumed.
