Hyderabad/New Delhi: The Seemandhra law-makers are now gearing up for defeating the resolution on separate Telangana when it would be moved in the State Assembly. This indication was given by ministers Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and N Raghuveera Reddy in New Delhi on Wednesday. Talking to media after meeting the AICC in-charge of state affairs Digvijay Singh, they said they had explained to him about the ongoing agitation in the Seemandhra region which had entered 29th day and the damage it would cause to the party in the next elections.

They said, if the high command still insists on going ahead with its decision to bring in a resolution in the state Assembly, they would express their views on the division of the State. The two ministers said that they had told Digvijay Singh to see that no whip was issued when the resolution was brought forward.

Another option available to them is to allow all those who want to speak on the issue to express their views and adjourn the house sine die giving a win win situation to all. Interestingly, Raghuveera Reddy and Ramanarayana Reddy along with MPs Ananta Venkatarami Reddy and Sai Pratap called on the President Pranab Mukherjee in Delhi. It is learnt that the leaders urged the President to keep AP intact. However, they told reporters that they had met the President to invite him to the state to participate in the concluding ceremony of birth centenary celebrations of the former President Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy.
