The Andhra Pradesh government on Friday issued orders to make changes and modernise the Lake View Guest House which would soon be the official residence of the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Modernisation of the guest house is likely to cost the government Rs 1.08 crore. Transport, Roads and Buildings Department will improve internal and external Electrical Insulation (EI) and provide CCTV with Internet Protocol (IP) cameras at the guest house for carrying out round-the-clock internet surveillance.

IP cameras, which unlike analog closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras, can send and receive data via a computer network and the internet. The security personnel can further increase surveillance in and around the guest house.

According to sources, Naidu is planning to demolish his house at Jubilee Hills and construct a bigger one at the same place to accommodate his growing family. The government is taking steps to further fortify the guest house against any possible attacks from extremists.

While Chandrababu Naidu is known to have a penchant for vastu, it will be interesting to see whether he will make changes to the Lake View Guest House.
