Massive cancer screening programme for Bidi workers

Joining the celebrations of the GCF at Hotel Daspalla, Health Minister Dr C Laxma Reddy, applauded services of the foundation and extended his support for the screening programme.
Health Minister extends support
Grace Cancer Foundation, a non-profit organisation is organising a screening programme for Bidi workers in Nizamabad district. Celebrating its third anniversary over the weekend, the foundation organised an awareness programme among the rural women in the city.
Joining the celebrations of the GCF at Hotel Daspalla, Health Minister Dr C Laxma Reddy, applauded services of the foundation and extended his support for the screening programme.
He emphasised on the need for prevention and early detection of cancer and promised Government’s support to the foundation. Surabhi Vani Devi, daugher of former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao, unveiled a Mobile Breast Cancer Screening app on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Chinnababu Sunkavalli, CEO, Grace Cancer Foundation, said, “We must increase our efforts to make sure that all women understand the importance of getting screened for cervical cancer and ensure no woman dies from cancer.”
“As part of the mobile breast screening programme, Bidi workers of Nizamabad shall undergo organised health check in a phased manner and data base shall be maintained,” he added.
