UPA failed to save Sarabjit: BJP

Khammam: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader M Venkaiah Naidu alleged that the UPA government miserably failed in handling Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh's issue, who was murdered in a Pakistani jail. The BJP senior leader was speaking to the media after taking part in the party's 'Atmiya Sadassu' at Rajpath Function Hall in the town on Saturday. He said that Sarabjit, who was lodged in jail for over two decades, would have been saved if the government had acted tough with the neighbouring country. Naidu alleged that the government was planning to leave Indian prisoners' issue by paying compensation to the Sarbajit's family members. Commenting on the statehood issue, separate Telangana State would become a reality only with a national party and the BJP would help in its formation if it would be voted to power in the next elections. Earlier in the day, he held discussions on value-based politics with the party leaders during the meeting. BJP State president Kishan Reddy and other leaders were present.Next Story
