MRPS flays CM for creating Mala-Madiga rift

Mangalagiri (Guntur): Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS) founder Manda Krishna Madiga on Saturday accused Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy of creating a rift between Madiga and Mala castes. He attended MRPS executive body meeting here. Addressing the executive committee, he spit fire on the CM for not giving priority to Mala caste in offering ministerial berths. While the previous chief ministers used to give equal representation to both the castes with three ministers each in the cabinet, Kiran Kumar Reddy broke the tradition. The chief minister had plotted for creating differences in brothers like Mala and Madiga castes. He gave three posts to Madiga caste while Mala caste was accommodated in four ministerial posts, Krishna Madiga said. He threatened the State government with launching an agitation seeking hike in pension to handicapped and the aged if it failed to effect the hike demanded by MRPS before June 7, the deadline opted by the government. He said Kiran Kumar Reddy was acting with cruelty towards scheduled castes while his predecessors Rosaiah, YS Rajasekhara Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu were known for their soft corner, he said.
